Zagreb at Night: Pub Crawl, Bars and Advent – What Actually Works
Updated October 20, 2026 · 5 min read
Zagreb after dark is easiest if you book one fixed plan and leave the rest open. The most reviewed organised night out is the Zagreb pub crawl with one hour of unlimited drinks and club entry, €23.20 per person, 4.3 stars from 130 reviews. For something quieter there is a folklore show and a few museums that stay open late. And in winter there is Advent.
The options in one table
| Option | Duration | From | Rating · reviews | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pub crawl with club entry | 5 hours | €23.20 | 4.3 · 130 | Adults who want to meet people |
| Live Croatian folklore show | 1 hour | €58 | 4.9 · 13 | A seated evening with a drink at the end |
| Museum of Hangovers | 30–60 minutes | €15.50 | 4.2 · 41 | A joke before or after dinner |
The pub crawl: what is in the price
The listing promises drinking games such as beer pong, rage cage and flip cup, one hour of unlimited beer, rum, gin and vodka mixes, two bars and then a club with VIP entry. The walk is on foot and there is no transport. The booking page says the crawl ends when you decide to go home or when the club closes.
The fine print matters more than the headline:
- Age: the booking page lists children under 18 as not suitable.
- What is not included: food and any additional drinks after the first hour. The organiser’s text says the free hour is “sometimes a little longer”.
- Cash: some bars take cash only; the listing says the group stops at an ATM if that is the case.
- Dress code: on Thursday, Friday and Saturday the club does not let in men in sandals, and sports shorts or singlets are not allowed either.
- Special dates: the organiser writes that the evenings of 25 September, 31 October, 1 December and 31 December are different and asks you to text them before booking.
The meeting point is the Whole Wide World Hostel & Bar at Kačićeva 3B. The rating of 4.3 from 130 reviews is decent, but below the folklore show’s 4.9. The evening is built around drinking games and a club, not a quiet dinner.
A quieter night: the folklore show
The live folklore show runs one hour with regional dances, music and stories in folk costumes, followed by a guided tour of the venue and a glass of rakija, a fruit brandy. It meets at Preradovićeva 31 and costs €58. The 4.9 rating rests on only 13 reviews, which is a weak signal, and €58 for an hour is not cheap. It suits visitors who want one Croatian cultural evening and no club.
Late museums
The Museum of Hangovers is open daily from 10:00 to 22:00, according to its booking page, and takes 30 to 60 minutes. It is self-guided, with eight rooms and a dark room you explore with a UV flashlight. The Museum of Broken Relationships is open until 21:00 or 22:00 depending on the season, and works better for a couple than for a group. Details on both are in the museums comparison.
Advent in Zagreb
The Advent programme is planned for 28 November 2026 to 7 January 2027, according to the city’s call for stall locations reported in April 2026. The main locations named there are Ban Josip Jelačić Square, Europe Square, Eugen Kvaternik Square, three sites in the Upper Town and three central parks. Dates and locations can change, so check the official programme closer to the time.
Which night for whom
- Travelling alone or with friends, in your twenties or thirties: the pub crawl, with cash and the right shoes.
- A couple: a late visit to the Museum of Broken Relationships, then dinner. A food walk earlier in the day puts the same city in a different light.
- Parents, or anyone under 18: not the pub crawl. The folklore show or an early evening walk in the Upper Town fits better; see the city tours.
- December: plan your evenings around Advent, and book anything fixed early.
Our advice
Book the pub crawl only if you want the crowd it brings, and read the special dates before you pay. Otherwise do one fixed thing, such as the folklore show or a late museum, and leave the rest of the evening for the streets.
